There are many factors that contribute to the growth and prosperity of Ireland through Research and Development (R&D). As mentioned in the August 12th, 2021, article by Mimi Murray of The Irish Times, “the medtech, pharma, and technology industries are leading the charge. With the investments in talent, automation, AI, sustainability and energy efficiency are motors of manufacturing”.
The Science Foundation Ireland (sfi) as well as their centres across Ireland and collaboration with a variety of Irish Universities are developing concepts and ideas that are truly ground-breaking. These collaborations are achieving innovations within medtech, AI, and the machine learning space. These industries are thriving due to the higher education Ireland possesses. Almost half of the Irish population has attended a university or college with this growth seeing an increase of 13% over the last six years.
